What this site is

An independent information site. It explains schemes, costs and choices in plain English and answers enquiries by email. We do not carry out, supervise or guarantee any work, and we are not a government body, a scheme administrator or a regulated financial adviser.

Information, not advice

We check our figures against the sources we cite and date them, but schemes, prices and rules change. Treat what you read here as general information. Confirm eligibility with the scheme itself, get written quotes, and take professional advice (tax, legal or financial) where your decision depends on it.

The prices and calculators on this site

The battery prices here are modelled from DESNZ's official statistics on batteries registered with MCS, using the method set out on our methodology page. They are medians, not quotes: half of recorded installations cost more per kWh and half cost less, and no firm is bound by them. A modelled price, a quote check or a year-one bill figure is arithmetic on the figures you enter and the sources we cite, rounded as each tool says. It is not an offer, a valuation or a recommendation to buy any battery, size or tariff.

The tools run in your browser. Nothing you type into the calculator, the quote checker or the bill-effect tool is sent to us; only the enquiry form sends anything, and only when you press its button.

Loans and finance

Solar Battery Price is not a lender, a credit broker or a financial adviser. Where we describe the Warm Homes Loan Scheme or any other finance, we describe it in general terms only, name no lenders and arrange nothing. Any credit agreement is between you and the firm offering it.

Firms you choose to deal with

Any contract you make for work is between you and the firm you choose. They are responsible for their quotes, work, guarantees and conduct. Check their registration and insurance yourself before you agree to anything; our guides explain which register to look up.

Our liability

We are not liable for losses arising from reliance on general information on this site or from the acts of firms you choose to deal with, except where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded.
